Whether it's a song about a road or the state I'm from; Half a Mile Up is a bit of an homage growing up; living, loving, and losing people. The song Midway Road is a ballad about the place I grew up, and West Virginia is my ode / anthem to the state I love. Songs like Half and Keep On Keeping On are words I wrote trying to cope with various losses through the years of friends and family members. Leading the Masses is a bit of an outburst of political frustration across the board. Burning New Ground is something of an outlaw love song I had in mind one day; while the song Argue Over Who Is Driving was an idea that crossed my mind about continuing to love someone and want them in your life as a friend - even if they are changing or acting different than usual. Last but not least Amen seemed like a fitting end to the album...stuff happens and, here I am still saying Amen. `We’ve established our status as savvy, in practice` `Starting out as a favorite to win it all this time` `But when playing the game, it’s never the same` `Than the dry runs that we race thru in our mind` Find the lyrics here: [[music/lyrics/Half a Mile Up|Half a Mile Up]] **Listen on:** - [iTunes](https://music.apple.com/us/album/half-a-mile-up/1759169278) - [Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/album/4AjXHPsqqD4uKwF35kMNEm) - [YouTube Music](https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_l-HiOFkdKp5xCnwRwy3kFByBcJ9tgMlMY) - [Amazon Music](https://music.amazon.com/albums/B0D9ZYRM9R)
